Letters & Sounds 2.1 Printables

Introduce letters and their sounds with the Letters & Sounds 2.1 Printable Pack! This is a phase 2, week 1 activity set, where kids are taught two sets of letters: s/a/t/p and i/n/m/d. As each new letter is learnt, children will be able to segment and blend these letters to create new words. 

1. "Apple Colors" introduces children to the first sequence of letters: s/a/t/p. The activity requires them to sound out the letters before matching each letter to a color. This enables them to become confident in their knowledge of letter sounds, and more familiar with the shape of each letter. Click here for PDF download

2. "Apple Letters" continues on from "Apple Colors". Four new letters are introduced: i/n/m/d. Children have practice sounding and drawing each letter as they complete the task. Click here for PDF download

 3. Children begin to segment and sound out words with "Segmenting Skills". Children use both sets of letters in forming new words including:

s/a/t/p: at, a, sat, pat, tap, sap, as

i: it, is, sit, sat, pit, tip, pip, sip

n: an, in, nip, pan, pin, tin, tan, nap

m: am, man, mam, mat, map, Pam, Tim, Sam

d: dad, and, sad, dim, dip, did, Sid
